That's right, the oldest balloon race in the whole darn South, right here in our own backyard. Starting bright and early each morning from downtown Helen, these magnificent hot air balloons will be taking to the skies, aiming all the way for the Atlantic Ocean! Now, I gotta tell ya, from my perspective, those human contraptions are a marvel. Imagine being up there, floatin' with the clouds! It's a breathtaking sight, and you can catch 'em launching from the fairgrounds or just enjoy the colorful spectacle as they drift over our village. It's truly something special, and a fantastic photo op!

Beyond the high-flying fun, you can always count on Helen to be buzzin' with activity. Our charming shops will be open, ready for you to explore everything from cuckoo clocks to, of course, the finest selection of Bigfoot novelties and tobacco products this side of the Mississippi! And when you've worked up an appetite from all that exploring, our German restaurants are ready to serve up some hearty schnitzel, pretzels, and brews.

For those who enjoy a little nature with their fun, the Foxfire Night Hikes at Anna Ruby Falls are also happening.
